FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. - Ilsa Burke has been going to the Minnesota State Fair for years. It's a tradition in her family, and this year's visit proved to be unforgettable.
"I was going for cheesy," said Brendan Otto.
On Friday, Otto was at the State Fair with his now-fiance Burke, along with her family. However, when the group got to the Mouth Trap food stand, he dropped to one knee and popped the question in the cheese curd line.
"I was just super nervous. I kind of just forced myself to do it as quickly as possible," said Otto.
"I thought maybe he had dropped something on the ground and was like 'Ok what's going on.' And I think you can see in the video, I said 'Are you proposing to me right now?'" said Burke.
Burke's tradition of going to the State Fair with a permanent partner is set in stone.
The couple plans to marry in December in Mason City, Iowa.
