BROOKLYN CENTER, Minn. - Police in Brooklyn Center say they have a person in custody in connection with a homicide Tuesday afternoon.
Around 2:30 p.m., police were called to the area of 66th Avenue North and Camden Avenue North. They arrived to find a man shot. Attempts to revive him were unsuccessful and he died at the scene.
While some officers attended to the shooting victim, others began searching the area for a suspect. A short time later, with the help of witnesses, police say they found the alleged shooter.
Police continue to investigate the shooting, but say they don't believe it was random.
The victim's name has not been released.
Authorities from Hennepin County and the Minnesota State Patrol assisted at the scene.
