4 charged after central MN meth bust

Four people are facing felony drug charges following a significant methamphetamine bust in central Minnesota.

BRAINERD, Minn. - Four people are facing felony drug charges following a significant methamphetamine bust in central Minnesota.

Agents from the Lakes Area Drug Investigation Division (LADID) executed a search warrant at a home in Crosby Tuesday and arrested Curtis Lee Hiltbrunner, age 32: His wife Melissa Sue Hiltbrunner, age 28: Nicholas John Schuman, age 35; and Trishanda Joelle Rude, age 30. All have been charged with a laundry list of crimes including possession of methamphetamine, possession with intent to sell, and possession of drug paraphrenalia in the presence of a child.

Crow Wing County Sheriff Todd Dahl says drug investigators confiscated around 3 ounces of meth with a street value of about $9,000, scales and baggies for packaging relating to sale, a firearm and ammunition, a surveillance system numbers items of paraphrenalia. Four children were in the house, ranging from two to 11-years-old.

“These type of drug dealers are poisoning our children and community and I will have my deputies go after them aggressively and bring them to justice,” said Sheriff Dahl in a written statement.
