ST PAUL, Minn. — St. Paul arson investigators are trying to find out who's responsible for a string of small fires around the city in recent days.
Deputy Fire Chief Roy Mokosso says 11 separate fires broke out late Sunday and early Monday in the Midway, Merriam Park and Groveland areas. Most of were set in dumpsters, but a few also damaged a car, a gazebo, and a shed.
Based on the similarities in how they were set and the locations, investigators believe the same person or people could be responsible.
"Midnight to 4:30 in the morning doesn't fit the window of child fire play. This is potentially an individual. These could be isolated events, or they could be connected," Mokosso told MPR News.
