HUTCHINSON, Minn. - State and local investigators are searching a McLeod County farm Tuesday, looking for a man who has been missing for nearly two months.
Wright County Sheriff's Captain Todd Hoffman tells KARE 11 that investigators from Wright and McLeod Counties and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) began looking for evidence Monday on the farm southwest of Hutchinson. The property is near the home of Robert Nuttall, a man charged with kidnapping in the disappearance of 25-year-old Christopher Rossing.
Authorities say Nuttall had a fight with Rossing along a highway in Howard Lake Aug. 23 after the two had a disagreement over a woman while drinking. Nuttall's girlfriend says Rossing was badly beaten, and told police that Nuttall drove away with Rossing's bloody body in the back seat of his SUV.
It was the last time the missing man was seen.
Hoffman says the Wright County Sheriff's Office has received dozens of tips on the whereabouts of Rossing, and confirms that the search of the farm near Hutchinson is based on one of them.
Both Nuttall and his girlfriend Gwen Butcher are charged in Rossing's disappearance.
