BLAINE, Minn. — Blaine police are investigating a Saturday evening shooting as a possible road rage incident.

Department spokesman Capt. Mark Boerboom says squads were dispatched to a business on the 10500 block of University Ave. on reports of a shooting. The victim told officers he was turning onto University from Highway 610 when multiple shots were fired at his vehicle from a black Toyota Camry.

Police say the victim was suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower abdomen. He was taken to Mercy Hospital with "minor" injuries.

Investigators confirm there are multiple bullet holes in the victim's vehicle, and say several bullet casings were found in the area of the reported shooting.

A news release sent out from Blaine Police did not say if a suspect has been identified or arrested in the shooting.
