BECKER, Minn. - A boy scout troop built on the premise of helping people at all times through good deeds is hurting tonight, after someone helped themselves to an essential piece of equipment used for fundraising.
On Saturday, August 2 leaders of Becker Boy Scout Troop 92 discovered that a trailer used to take part in monthly paper drives to earn money for scout camps and other activities had been stolen from its normal parking place in the Becker Business District.
A stolen property report was filed Monday night with the Becker Police Department.
The trailer is described as black in color, 18 feet long, five feet tall with an open bed and a pull-over style mesh cover black in color. It has a tandem (duel) axle and a hydraulic lift. The plate number is 8254CMT. When last seen by the Boy Scouts it had a three foot by two foot grey sign on each side that reads "CARDBOARD/PAPER RECYCLING PROCEEDS GO TO BECKER BOY SCOUTS TROOP 92".
The troop estimates the value of the trailer is $10,000.
Anyone who knows the whereabouts of the scout trailer, or who sees it being pulled down the road is asked to note a description of the vehicle pulling the trailer, as well as the location, is asked to contact the Becker Police Department at 763-261-4300.
