CARVER, Minn. — A 17-year-old employee is recovering after being attacked and stabbed while working at Fleet Farm in Carver on Sunday.
The Carver County Sheriff's Office says squads were dispatched to the retail store on Levi Griffin Road just after 2 p.m. on a reported assault. When they arrived deputies learned that the young employee from Jordan had been stabbed in the neck. She was treated on scene by paramedics and then taken to Hennepin Healthcare in Minneapolis, where she was last reported in stable condition.
A witness to the attack gave deputies a description of the suspect's car and the license plate number, and law enforcement located the vehicle and conducted a high-risk stop. The suspect, a 31-year-old man from Kansas City, Kansas, was taken into custody and booked for probable cause felony assault.
Carver County investigators say there is no known connection between the alleged attacker and the teen victim, and released no details about a potential motive for the stabbing.
