MINNEAPOLIS - A former University of Minnesota student will serve six years in prison for raping two women he met at college parties in 2014.

Twenty-two-year-old Daniel Drill-Mellum of Waconia was sentenced Tuesday after pleading guilty to two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct.

An 18-year-old woman told police Drill-Mellum raped her at the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity house during a Halloween party in 2014. A 19-year-old woman said Drill-Mellum raped her at his apartment after meeting him at another party the following weekend.

Drill-Mellum was arrested and charged at the end of 2015.

The Star Tribune reports both victims read statements during the sentencing. Drill-Mellum did not look at either woman, and was led out in handcuffs at the end of the hearing.
