The charges accuse the men of defrauding the organization of at least $250,000 and personally enriching themselves.
Officer Jordan Davis was shot after he responded to a burglary last February.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - A federal grand jury has indicted two people related to the now-closed Community Action of Minneapolis on charges related to alleged embezzlement of public grant money.

Charging documents released Thursday name William Davis and his son Jordan Davis as defendants.

The elder Davis was chief executive of the nonprofit group that distributes assistance to low-income clients. The younger Davis is a Minneapolis police officer.

The charges accuse the men of defrauding the organization of at least $250,000 and personally enriching themselves.

An email to William Davis wasn't immediately returned and a phone line for him was busy. A Minneapolis police spokesman said they were looking into status of Jordan Davis, for whom contact information wasn't immediately available. Jordan Davis was shot and wounded after he responded to a burglary last February.
