BLAINE, Minn. — A man was arrested Tuesday evening following a pursuit with law enforcement that ended in Blaine, according to officials.

A press release from the Anoka County Sheriff's Office states that the pursuit began in Ham Lake and ended with the suspect crashing into multiple squad cars on Highway 65.

Following the pursuit, officials say the man armed himself with a knife and was uncooperative. According to the press release, law enforcement used "less lethal tactics" to disarm the man, who was then taken into custody. The suspect was taken to a local hospital for evaluation. It's unclear if any law enforcement officials were injured.

Officials say the pursuit began after a deputy responded to a report of a suspicious man just before 6:20 p.m. in the area of the 7000 block of Ivy Lane Northeast. According to the press release, the deputy discovered that the vehicle was registered to a person with an active arrest warrant for criminal sexual conduct. The suspect fled the scene.

The deputy responding didn't continue the pursuit due to the amount of people in the area, however, a second deputy with the Anoka County Sheriff's Office spotted the suspect vehicle on Highway 65 travelling southbound toward Blaine where the pursuit ended with the suspect colliding with multiple law enforcement vehicles near the 9700 block of Highway 65.
