Man busted for picking up 260-pound pot shipment

MINNEAPOLIS - A Brooklyn Center man is being held in the Hennepin County Jail after he tried to pick up a 260-pound shipment of marijuana.

On New Year's Day, police were called to a produce warehouse in the 2700 E. 28th St. of Minneapolis after employees found a large amount of what they believed to be marijuana. According to the charges, the marijuana was hidden inside a shipment from California, addressed to Steven Yang of Brooklyn Center.

Yang, 26, arrived to pick up the package and was arrested on site.

The marijuana is valued at upwards of $1.5 million. If convicted, Yang faces up to 30 years in prison and a $1 million fine.
