ST PAUL, Minn. — The Saint Paul Police Department (SPPD) arrested a 21-year-old suspect after a man was fatally shot in a car early May 30.
St. Paul police spokesm Sgt. Mike Ernster said squads were dispatched to the 800 block of Simcoe St. around 2:30 a.m. last Thursday on reports of a person shot.
When they arrived, officers located a vehicle that had crashed and come to rest in a yard. Inside that vehicle was 21-year-old Toumai Gaynor, who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his head and neck area, according to SPPD.
Gaynor, of St. Paul, died from his injuries on Thursday afternoon, according to SPPD.
Charges against the suspect could come as early as Tuesday.
