COON RAPIDS, Minn. — One of the men charged after an incident outside of last year's Coon Rapids High School Homecoming football game pleaded guilty Tuesday to possessing a dangerous weapon on school property.

Josiah Wesseh, Jr., 20, was charged in October of 2022 after a district staff member turned away a group of adult and juvenile males not affiliated with Coon Rapids High School. According to court documents, police were escorting them from the school grounds when a witness reported seeing a member of the group carrying a gun.

Officers recovered three guns from a vehicle in the parking lot that belonged to the group, and as the individuals were attempting to leave in another vehicle, they were stopped by officers who found a fourth weapon inside that vehicle. None of the weapons were fired during the incident.

Wesseh is scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 31, 2024.
