MINNEAPOLIS - Hennepin County prosecutors say a former Maple Grove High School teacher and assistant girls softball coach sexually touched a student and player.

Jessica Chase, 35, of Coon Rapids, is charged with fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct.

On July 22, Maple Grove police were first told that Chase was potentially involved in a relationship with a 17-year-old student at the school.

According to the criminal complaint, police found several text messages between Chase and the victim. The text messages discussed "kissing, cuddling and touching."

In one text, Chase said to the girl: "I want you to 50 shades me," the complaint read.

Chase also made references to touching the girl's buttocks.

According to the criminal complaint, Chase told police that she knew the 17-year-old for more than a year and a half, taught at the victim's school and also tutored her. Chase also said she coached the teen for one week during a sports season.

Chase admitted that she kissed the teen and touched her inner thigh, the complaint read.

If convicted, Chase could face 10 years in prison and up to $20,000 in fines.
