MINNEAPOLIS — Minneapolis Police are investigating a suspicious death after a man's body was found in the rubble of a house fire early Monday.
Fire crews were dispatched just after midnight to a home on the 2600 block of 13th Ave. South near Seward Park on reports of a house fire. As they were battling the fire crews discovered a man's body. Minneapolis Police spokesman John Elder said the victim's injuries were definitely not suffered during the fire. .
"It absolutely is suspicious," Elder shared. "The injuries are inconsistent with that of just being from a fire."
Elder says homicide investigators are talking with witnesses and neighbors, but at this time there are no suspects in custody. Crime lab technicians collected evidence from the scene which will be processed.
