MINNEAPOLIS — Minneapolis police are investigating a chaotic scene that unfolded Sunday where a car was hijacked and multiple crashes took place.
Police said a man got into an altercation with security at a building on the 2900 block of Chicago Ave. South at around 4:20 p.m.
The man then fled in a vehicle and got into a property crash at Cedar Avenue in Lake Street. He continued westbound on East Lake Street and got into another crash at 13th and Lake. He then drove eastbound on Lake Street and crashed at Cedar Avenue.
The suspect fled the wreck on foot and ran to another vehicle, where he opened the passenger door and climbed in. The driver and her passenger fled, police said.
The suspect drove the hijacked car southbound on Cedar Avenue and crashed into three more vehicles. Officers were able to apprehend the suspect without the use of force.
Amazingly, no innocent people were injured in the chaos. The suspect was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center by ambulance.
Police have not identified the suspect at this time.
