MINNEAPOLIS — The Minnesota Department of Public Safety (DPS) has identified nine officers who discharged their weapons during a Dec. 15 officer-involved shooting incident that led to the death of 52-year-old Chiasher Fong Vue.
According to a DPS press release, the Minneapolis officers are identified as:
- Sergeant Troy Carlson

- Officer Kyle Pond
- Officer Andrew Reed
- Officer Travis Williams
- Officer Jason Wolff
- Officer Aaron Womble

According to the release, the officers have a range of experience between five and 15 years with MPD.
On Tuesday, the Hennepin County Medical Examiner identified the shooting victim as 52-year-old Minneapolis resident Chiasher Fong Vue, who died of multiple gunshot wounds.
DPS says police were called to a home on Thomas Avenue North on a report that a man had been carrying a knife and firing a gun inside. Multiple family members had escaped the home unharmed, and one remaining family member inside was not injured as a result of the incident, according to the news release.
DPS says police contacted the man, later identified as Vue, via phone and convinced him to briefly exit the home; however the news release states Vue went back inside and reappeared in a doorway with a rife, which he began shooting. Officers returned fire and Vue was hit with multiple rounds from police.
This is an ongoing Bureau of Criminal Apprehension investigation.
