WHITE BEAR LAKE, Minn. — One person was found dead while police were responding to a report of a burglary at a White Bear Lake home on Thursday afternoon.
At 1 p.m., officers with the White Bear Lake Police Department were called to a home on the 1800 block of Highway 96 East for a burglary in progress. When police arrived, they met with the person living in the home while the suspect was still inside, according to a press release.
Police say they attempted to make verbal contact with the suspect, but there was no response. Officials say they entered the residence and found a person who had been killed by an apparent gunshot wound. Police have not said if the person found inside the home was the suspect in the burglary, but did add that there was no known threat to the community.
