MINNEAPOLIS — A man was killed in a deadly shooting on Friday night near 38th Street and Chicago Avenue in south Minneapolis, police say.
The Minneapolis Police Department said in a statement that the fatal shooting was reported at about 7:45 p.m. Friday and when officers arrived, a man was found at the scene with a gunshot wound to his neck.
Police say the man was taken to a nearby hospital, where he would be later pronounced dead.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner announced on Tuesday that the man was identified as 46-year-old Kirk Douglas Lee of Minneapolis. The medical examiner found his cause of death to be a gunshot wound to the torso and the manner of death to be homicide.
Minneapolis PD said that no arrests have been made and this is the 14th homicide in 2022 in the city.
