LAKEVILLE, Minn. — Lakeville police said a suspect is in custody following an incident that prompted a "shelter-in-place" notification in the area around the Brackett's Crossing Country Club on Thursday morning.

In a series of social media posts, Lakeville police said the incident started with "a domestic situation in a vehicle where a male subject fled on foot" and may have been armed. Officers searched the golf course area and cleared all buildings about an hour later. Police said there were no reports of any serious injury.

Police then announced on X that the suspect had been taken into custody.

In an update later Thursday afternoon, the department said the suspect was apprehended after officers responded to a tip indicating the 27-year-old man was spotted on the 18000 block of Lansford Path.

Police said the man peacefully surrendered to police commands without incident and they did not recover a firearm on his person or anywhere in the vicinity of his arrest.
