ST PAUL, Minn. — Police in St. Paul are looking for suspects after a man was shot in the city's east side early Monday, leading to a busy crime scene that stretched out for hours.
Dispatchers received multiple 911 calls just before 3:30 a.m. reporting multiple shots fired on the 900 block of Arcade St. Squads arrived and located evidence of shots fired but could not find a victim or suspects.
A police spokesman says a short time later, officers were called to a location on the 100 block of Arch St. and found a man who had been shot in the neck. It was soon determined he had been shot in the incident on Arcade Street where police had been earlier.
The man was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators were told numerous people had run into an apartment complex on the 900 block of Arcade St. following the shooting. Multiple squads and a SPPD SWAT team responded to the scene and Arcade was blocked off to keep people away. KARE 11 reporter Michelle Baik reported that police could be heard talking over a megaphone around 4:30 or 5 a.m.
At this point no suspects have been identified or arrested. Police do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public.
