ROGERS, Minn. — A St. Cloud woman is facing criminal charges after authorities say she hit a State Patrol squad while under the influence of alcohol early Friday.

It happened around 3:45 a.m. on westbound I-94 at Highway 101 in Rodgers. The State Patrol says a trooper was working traffic enforcement in a construction zone and was sitting in the closed lanes with lights activated when they were struck by a vehicle that drove into the closure.

Both vehicles suffered significant damage in the crash. The 20-year-old driver showed signs of impairment and was arrested on suspicion of DWI. Both she and her passenger were taken to North Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver was then booked into the Hennepin County Jail.

The trooper involved in the crash was not injured.
