EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — Two Minnesota women are jailed in Eau Claire, Wis., after troopers pulled them over and found more than 16 pounds of methamphetamine and a child in their vehicle.
The Wisconsin State Patrol says a trooper witnessed a traffic violation shortly before 10:15 p.m. Sunday and pulled a vehicle over in Eau Claire County near milepost 74. After seeing what the patrol calls "indicators of criminal activity" troopers removed the two suspects and a four-year-old child from the vehicle. A search located a duffel bag containing 7.5 kilos of meth, the equivalent of 16.5 pounds.
The child was released to Human Services of Eau Claire County while the suspects, a 35-year-old woman from Ogema, Mn, and a 39-year-old woman from Minneapolis, were arrested on pending charges of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine. Both were booked into the Eau Claire County Jail pending charges.
