ST. PAUL, Minn. - An employee died in a workplace incident at a St. Paul rail yard early Saturday morning, according to police.
The incident happened around 12:30 a.m. during the man's shift change at the Canadian Pacific rail yard near Childs Road. He was transported to Regions Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
A spokesperson for Canadian Pacific said the company is investigating the cause of the incident.
"Our thoughts are with the employee's family and friends at this time," said Martin Cej, Canadian Pacific's assistant vice president of public affairs and communications. "Out of respect for their privacy, we are not releasing additional details about the employee or the incident."
The Ramsey County Medical Examiner is expected to release the identity of the man who died.
