ST PAUL, Minn. — The International Institute of Minnesota's Festival of Nations is returning for its 87th year on Thursday.
The festival calls itself the "most diverse, oldest and longest running multicultural festival in the Midwest."
At the festival, nearly 100 ethnic groups will come together to display their individual beauty and to demonstrate the presence they have in our community.
Attractions include art, food, performances, bazaars and more.
Headlining performances this year include Ifrah Mansour's short educational play titled Somalia's Balloon and a performance by painter Delphin Starr Niyonkuru.
Teachers and students of the Wellstone International High School will be offering 30-minute language lessons in languages such as Spanish, Oromo, Somali and Arabic.
Some international cafes will be presenting a food-sampling program called Food Flight. Visitors of the festival will be able to buy tickets to use at any participating cafe for sample-sized portions of international dishes.
