Final jobs filled for Final Four stadium team

US Bank Stadium operator, SMG, put the finishing touches on its team of employees during its final, Final Four hiring fair on Tuesday.

MINNEAPOLIS — The Final Four is still a couple weeks away, but one roster is already taking shape.

US Bank Stadium operator, SMG, put the finishing touches on its team of employees during its final, Final Four hiring fair on Tuesday.

"I’m waiting for them to call me back for the interview,” said Keenan Sellers. "I’m a big Minnesota fan, and then to come down here and they're offering a job? Why not?"

Sellers was among many people who stopped by to apply for the few remaining part-time jobs, working a big-time college championship.

“I'm a retiree so I just want a little extra fun money,” said Susan Swain, who had a quick answer following her interview. "If my background check goes through, I'm hired.”

In all, SMG is hiring 75 people in guest services (ticket scanning, ushers) or custodial jobs.

“I’m looking to scan tickets,” Sellers said. "The customer service is always fun because you meet a lot of cool people."

"I like the movement of a custodial job,” said Swain, who says she also worked security during the Super Bowl. "I was outside in the cold at one of the gates, making sure people weren't bringing things in, in their purses, so I like climate control."

SMG hopes others do too. Hiring and retention can be tough during this time of low unemployment, so they hope many will come for the Final Four and stay for the next round of events and concerts.

"I'm looking for the Final Four, final eight, just keep it going all the way,” Sellers said. “I don't mind it, it's good work and it's fun."

Though this was the last chance to work the Final Four, SMG will be hiring for more events, like the X-Games, in the coming months click here for more information.
