Speakers included Jennifer Carnahan, the chair of the Republican Party of Minnesota; and State Rep. Marion O'Neill (R-29B).

The gun rights organizations represented were the NRA, Gun Owners Civil Rights Alliance, and the Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus & Political Action Committee.

Participants said they wanted to send a message to lawmakers during the final days of the session that they oppose any gun control legislation.

The rally comes after proposals for gun control measures were effectively killed by the Republican-controlled Legislature. It also follows a 24-hour sit-in by a Democratic lawmaker meant to show a lack of action on gun control legislation.
