WAYZATA, Minn. — Wayzata Public Schools have announced they will use a hybrid learning model in the fall with the choice of a distance learning option for families who feel that's a better fit.
The announcement comes after Gov. Tim Walz said the state will work with school districts to make individual decisions about what type of learning scenario they will use.
Wayzata will carry out their hybrid learning scenario by dividing students into two groups. The groups will alternate distance learning and attending school in-person each day, with the exception of Friday, which will be distance learning for everyone.
An email will be sent out to families on Aug. 17 with the students' group assignment.
Families with students who may be medically vulnerable or otherwise unable or uncomfortable about returning to in-person or hybrid learning can opt for the 100% distance learning option.
