GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. — UPDATE: More than 80 people showed up to donate at Health Fair 11 Winter Blood Drive with the Red Cross. Of those, 25 were first time donors! A total of 78 units were collected.
This was HF11's 18th drive with the Red Cross. To-date, we've collected more than 1300 units of blood for the Red Cross.
The Health Fair 11 Spring Blood Drive is scheduled for April 2nd. It supports Memorial Blood Centers.
ORGINAL STORY: Do more ‘good’ in the new year! Start by donating at the Health Fair 11 Winter Blood Drive.
The American Red Cross is asking people to reserve donations times NOW for the drive set for Thursday, January 4, 2024. The drive takes place at the Minneapolis Marriott West hotel, in St. Louis Park from 1:00-7:00 p.m. The hotel, located near KARE 11 studios, is north of I-394 and west of Highway 169.
Appointments are strongly encouraged and are available NOW by: 1) using this link to the Red Cross scheduling site. Enter sponsor code ‘KARE11’ to select a donation time; or by 2) calling 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767). Walk-in donors are appreciated and will be accepted as space allows.
The donation process will go smoother and faster if donors have appointments and fill out the RapidPass health history questionnaire online prior to arrival. All donors will receive a long sleeved American Red Cross shirt that features a new and trendy design. Donors will also be entered into a drawing for Visa or Target gift cards. One $50 card will be given away each hour of the drive.
The Health Fair 11 Winter Blood Drive is coordinated by Health Fair 11, a nonprofit organization that operates with media support from KARE 11. Health Fair 11 is currently seeking sponsors/collaborators to develop outreach programs in 2024. Email healthfair@kare11.com for information.
