ST PAUL, Minn. — The Minnesota Department of Health confirmed the seventh flu-related death this season.
MDH released its weekly activity report for the week ending on Saturday, Dec. 21, confirming the most recent death, and other flu-related statistics. None of the deaths have been pediatric deaths. The average age has been 81 years old.
The report shows 78 hospitalizations over the past week, bringing the state's total to 351, as the flu remains "widespread" across the state.
School outbreaks grew with 167 news outbreaks over the past week, bringing the season total to 287 outbreaks across the state.
