WABASSO, Minn. — Wabasso Public School is closing Thursday and Friday due to an outbreak of the flu.
Superintendent Wade McKittrick posted a video on the school's Facebook page Wednesday night making the announcement.
He said on Monday, there were 53 students and nine staff members sick with the flu. On Wednesday, the number of student cases rose to 74.
McKittrick said Thursday's school day will be made up at the end of the year, and Friday will be made up March 27.
Seventy-four students equals about 20 percent of the student population, according to McKittrick.
