The Henning High School boys basketball team won the class A state tournament Saturday honoring a teammate who passed away two years ago.
The Henning High School team defeated North Woods 67-42.
The team continues to honor one of their teammates who they refer to as their "sixth player."
On April 13, 2017, 16-year-old sophomore Jacob Quam was driving to school when a semi crossed the center line and hit him head-on, killing him. Quam was a beloved student athlete who would have led his team throughout his high school career.
The team breaks their huddle with Quam's nickname, “City Boy.” And they bring his jersey to every game.
