MINNEAPOLIS – Jack Jablonski made a celebrity splash Saturday night and took ESPN TV host Michelle Beadle to his high school prom.
"This is ending high school with a hurrah," he chuckled. "I can't thank Michelle enough for coming tonight."
Last month, while live on a local sports talk radio show, Jablonski asked Beadle and her response was "Yes." On Friday, she had dinner with the Jablonski family, then participated in the school's grand march and an evening full of events.
"This all somehow worked itself out," said Jablonski. "So far it's been really fun."
Beadle admitted she had been asked if she was a "chaperon," but regardless, she called it her most memorable prom.
"Jack is a just a cool human being," she said. "To go through what he's gone through and to keep smiling, it's just a no-brainer that I would want to hang out."
Jablonksi was paralyzed two years ago in a high school hockey game. He will graduate from Benilde Saint Margaret High School next month.
