The KARE 11 front yard is undergoing a transformation with the help of Minnesota Native Landscapes.
The front yard will be a beautiful pollinator prairie in the near future.
Pollinator prairies provide a habitat and food for our native bees, butterflies, and other countless beneficial insects.
Plus they don't require any watering, mowing, or fertilizing! This greatly reduces the energy, chemicals and money it takes to maintain a lawn.
Minnesota Native Landscapes tilled up the soil and planted 32 wildflowers, six grasses and one sedge, which are all native species to our state.
They also sprayed hydro-mulch to keep the area moist as the seeds germinate. Hydro-mulch is a mix of recycled paper, wood fibers and soy-based ink.
We'll keep you updated on this unbeleafable project! Stay tuned!
