SAINT PAUL, Minn. — This week we first told you about a woman who's holding a sign outside the Minnesota State Fair to find her cousin a kidney.
The story first aired on Breaking the News Tuesday night, but now, we're finding about another local woman who's looking for a kidney herself, and is also using the great get-together to find it.
But instead of signs, Peggy Strom and her family made t-shirts to wear at the fair.
The front of the shirts read "Miracle Needed" the back lists Peggy's contact information and blood type, which is "O."
Peggy has Polycystic Kidney Disease.
The disease runs in her family, and it causes the kidneys to shut down and eventually fail.
Peggy has been on the waiting list for a new kidney for three years already and says it will likely be another three to four years before her name reaches the top.
Anyone who's interested in helping her out, should either call 612-590-7232 or send an email to kidney2019@yahoo.com
And if you're interested in learning more about the organ donation process, check out Breaking the News Friday night at 6:30 p.m.
Gordon Severson will sit down with a surgeon at Allina Health to learn more the process for getting tested to see if you're a match, and what life is like after you donate one of your kidneys.
