14 people cited after climbing fence at Eastcliff Mansion during protest

The rally, which was calling on Gov. Tim Walz to divest from Israel, began outside Eastcliff Mansion the University of Minnesota's campus just before 5:30 p.m.

ST PAUL, Minn. — Fourteen people were cited for trespassing after hopping the fence at the temporary Governor's Residence Wednesday evening during a protest.

The rally, which was calling on Gov. Tim Walz to divest from Israel, began outside Eastcliff Mansion the University of Minnesota's campus just before 5:30 p.m. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, there were about 100 people participating in the demonstration, and at one point, 14 people — 12 women and two men — climbed the fence of the property. Officials say all 14 people were cited and released.
