HASTINGS, Minn. - Two people have died in a head-on collision near Hastings.
Dakota County Sheriff-elect Tim Leslie says a car crossed the center line on Ravenna Trail in a residential area south of Hastings and collided with an SUV just before 4 p.m. Thursday.
Leslie says the driver of the car, 57-year-old Timothy Gusk, and a passenger in the SUV, 56-year-old Lihua Jing, died at the scene.
The driver and another passenger in the SUV were taken to Regions Hospital. He says the driver is in critical condition while the passenger is in stable condition.
Investigators are still trying to determine why the car crossed the center line. The State Patrol is assisting.
