3 officers hurt after squad cars collide in Minneapolis

Two Minneapolis Police squad cars collided early Thursday morning when responding to separate calls.

MINNEAPOLIS — Several officers were hurt Thursday morning when their squad cars collided in Minneapolis.

It happened just before 3 a.m. in Minneapolis' Lyndale neighborhood. According to officials with the police department, one squad was going north on 1st Avenue South as another squad was driving east on 32nd Street East. The two collided in the intersection.

Officials told KARE 11 the two fully marked vehicles were responding to different calls when they collided. 

Four officers were involved in the crash. Three were taken by EMS to Hennepin Healthcare Hospital for minor injuries, officials said, and have been released. The fourth officer was not hurt.
