3 people shot on Washington Avenue Saturday morning

Officials said three people were rushed to the hospital after a shooting near the 200 block of Washington Avenue North.

MINNEAPOLIS — Two adults and a juvenile were injured on Saturday morning after gunshots rang out in Minneapolis' Warehouse District, according to officials. 

Information from police said officers heard gunshots in the area around the 200 block of Washington Avenue North and responded just after 3:15 a.m. Police found a 48-year-old man with a potentially life-threatening gunshot wound, a 17-year-old male with a potentially life-threatening gunshot injury and a 27-year-old woman with an apparent non-life-threatening gunshot wound. 

All three people were taken to Hennepin Healthcare. Officials have not provided any other details about their injuries or conditions. 

Police said a vehicle leaving the area was linked to the shooting and officers stopped it at 1st Avenue North and 4th Street and arrested the five people inside. 

A 22-year-old woman, a 20-year-old man, a 20-year-old woman, a 19-year-old woman and a 15-year-old boy were detained by police and officers said a gun was recovered. Officials said the four adults were taken to Hennepin County Jail and the juvenile was booked in the Hennepin County Juvenile Detention Center. 

Charges have not been announced for any of the people arrested as of Saturday morning. 

Evidence of gunfire, including discharged cartridge casings and building damage was found on both sides of 2nd Avenue North near Washington Avenue, police said. Two stolen motorcycles were also recovered. 

Minneapolis police said this weekend incident is still under investigation.
