The manager announced the closure in a social media post, much to the dismay of a loyal fanbase.

MINNEAPOLIS — A memorable North Minneapolis landmark is closing after 37 years in business, much to the dismay of its sizeable customer base.

Manager Mike Oker announced the 4th Street Saloon is closing in a Facebook post Monday, thanking his loyal customers and offering up one last bash to celebrate the saloon's history. The mainstay will close on March 31.

IT'S TRUE WE ARE CLOSING OUR DOORS AFTER 37 AMAZING YEARS OF SERVING OUR NORTH MINNEAPOLIS FAMILY!!!! WE WOULD LIKE TO...

Oker did not clarify in the post why the bar is closing.

However, in recent years, the saloon has seen several instances of violent crime. Just in September, a shooting in the parking lot left one person injured and another dead.
