MINNEAPOLIS — Call centers are coming back online after a global Microsoft outage knocked out 911 for counties across the nation Friday morning.

DownDetector, which tracks user-reported outages, showed 114 reports of 911 outages around 2 a.m. By 8:30 a.m., that number was down to 62.
Minnesota experienced outages in St. Louis County and the Twin Cities metro, but officials report that everything is back online as of 8 a.m. Friday. KARE 11 reporter CeCe Gaines said that officials in Hennepin, Anoka, Ramsey, Carver and other nearby counties stated that 911 was functioning Friday morning.
St. Louis County Sheriff's Office posted on Facebook, saying that 911 services were back online around 2 a.m. after glitching earlier Thursday night.
Other states, including Indiana, Ohio and Kansas in the Midwest, are reporting problems with 911 services as well.
