Victims identified in Coon Rapids triple-homicide

Police also said two juveniles were found in the home but weren't injured. A suspect, a 37-year-old Fridley man, is in custody awaiting charges.

COON RAPIDS, Minn. — On Friday night officials in Coon Rapids announced that a man was arrested in connection with a triple homicide that left two men and one woman dead.

The Anoka County Sherriff's Office said a 37-year-old man from Fridley is being held in the deaths. He has not been formally charged.

On Monday, Jan. 29, the victims were identified as 42-year-old Shannon Patricia Jungwirth, her 20-year-old son Jorge Alexander Reyes-Jungwirth, and Shannon Jungworth's 39-year-old husband Mario Alberto Trejo Estrada.

All three were residents of Coon Rapids.

Two juveniles found in the home were uninjured.

Police say the crime was discovered after an "open line" 911 call was placed just before 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 26. According to Tierney Peters, a spokesperson for the Anoka County Sheriff's Office, "sounds of disturbance" were heard on the caller's end, prompting police to respond and investigate.

Two men and one woman were found deceased in the home on the 200 block of 94th Avenue Northwest.
