OAKDALE, Minn. -- A group of Minnesota motorcyclists are in mourning tonight after a weekend benefit ride ended tragically.
Tonia Stocking, 49, of Cottage Grove died after a motorcycle crash Saturday afternoon in Oakdale.
Rhonda Thill tells KARE 11 that the motorcyclists were participating in the Riding With Randy benefit to support the family of Randy Thill, who died in a motorcycle crash in June.
Minnesota State Patrol says an SUV over-corrected on Highway 120 at 45th Street North and struck two motorcycles head-on.
Police say Stocking was a passenger on one of the motorcycles. The driver of that motorcycle is at Regions Hospital and was last listed in serious condition.
One of the two riders on the second motorcycle was also injured, according to officials.
The driver of the SUV, a 22-year-old man from Oakdale, was uninjured.
According to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, motorcycle deaths are up about 47 percent from this time last year when there were 32 rider deaths.
