BEMIDJI, Minn. — The Bemidji Police Department is searching for a man who hasn't been seen since Christmas Eve.

According to a press release from the Minnesota BCA, 35-year-old Matthew J. Asa was last seen on Dec. 24 at Northland Apartments on America Avenue NW, where he lived in Bemidji. Nobody has seen or heard from him since that time.

The BCA said there's concern because Asa has a mental illness. He's described as 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 195 pounds, with a shaved head and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a camo "Army" jacket with black tennis shoes and possibly wearing sweatpants.

Anyone with information about Asa's whereabouts is asked to contact Bemidji Police at 218-333-9111.
