Billie Eilish visits Minneapolis store ahead of concert

The alt-pop hitmaker shopped at Vintage this weekend before taking the stage at Xcel Energy Center.

MINNEAPOLIS — A Minneapolis store owner was shocked to see a celebrity walk through his doors this weekend.

Billie Eilish’s Hit Me Hard and Soft tour is making a stop in St. Paul this Sunday and Monday. Eilish is performing at Xcel Energy Center. Fans were in line just before 1:30 p.m. to snag some of her merchandise.

Before she hit the stage, she made a stop at Vintage off Lyndale Avenue in Minneapolis.

“She bought a 1960s referee jacket, and a 70s apron with a nude female figure screen printed on top of it, and a 1950s Coca-Cola work shirt, and her friends also picked up a variety of different things, said Vintage Owner Justin Schaefer.

Schaefer describes his store as a hyper-ethicized, lightly curated, vintage clothing store that has something for everybody.

“She said it was awesome, and you know she was hanging out, playing with Rubik’s cubes and just taking it all in. I just think she kind of understood the vibe that was happening with all the different avenues one could approach while looking through all the things that are here,” he said.

He said one of his employees told him Eilish was in the store, so he hopped in the car with his son and drove straight there. Schaefer said the alt-pop hitmaker was very nice and even took a picture with his son who is a fan of hers.

He opened his store in the 1930s White Castle just a little over a year ago, and never imagined a celebrity would find his store to be a vibe.
