Black Friday midnight opening draws 15K to MOA

A midnight opening has given the Mall of America the largest opening of any Black Friday in the mall's history.

For the first time, the Mall of America opened for Black Friday at midnight, drawing more than 15,000 shoppers. More than 120 stores at the Bloomington mall opened at midnight.p dir="ltr">By 10 a.m., 81,000 visitors had walked through the doors. Mall spokeswoman Bridget Jewell says that number was up to 150,000 by 4 p.m.p dir="ltr">By the end of Friday, the mall hopes to break the Black Friday record set last year of 200,000 visitors.
