Officials not seeking suspects after Blaine couple found dead

Blaine PD says no crime was committed in connection to a reported burglary at the couple's residence. Officials say it was a civil matter unrelated to their deaths.

BLAINE, Minn. — Officials say they're not looking for any suspects and there's no known threat to the public after finding a Blaine couple dead inside a vehicle just hours before their home was reportedly ransacked.

In a press release Tuesday, the Anoka County Sheriff's Office said it's still investigating after Sarah Fay Gordon and Daniel Joseph Seman were found dead last week inside a vehicle on the 10700 block of Town Square Drive Northeast.

According to police, officers were called to the area Wednesday, March 27 around noon on a report of two unresponsive people in a vehicle. When officers arrived, they found two people, later identified as Gordon and Seman, dead with apparent gunshot wounds. Officials say Gordon and Seman were married.

"At this time there are no suspected related to both Sarah Gordon and Daniel Seman's death and we aren't aware of any threats to the public," said Tierney Peters, the community relations coordinator with the Anoka County Sheriff's Office, the agency investigating the deaths.

According to a search warrant filed last week, officers were later called to the home of Gordon and Seman just hours after their deaths on a report of a possible burglary. The affidavit says officers found footprints in the snow that led to the rear basement window, which had been broken out, and about 50 guns were stolen from a gun room after the door, which had a biometric lock, had been kicked in.

On Tuesday, Blaine Police said that it was not a robbery, but it did involve a family member who had a right to be there. In a press release, officials said it was a civil matter that was unrelated to the couple's deaths.
