SAINT PAUL, Minn. — Signs of Minnesota's past can be found all over the state, you just need to look for it.
But the Minnesota Historical Society is making it easier than ever this year with a history scavenger hunt.
For its 175th anniversary, the organization has put together a task list from Luverne to Grand Portage.
"We thought it would be great to do 175 things to celebrate 175 years of Minnesota history," said Jacob Rorem, Program Specialist. "Maybe I should have chosen a smaller number because it was a lot, a big lift."
He's the one responsible for this list of historical sites, museums and Midwest cultural items to explore all throughout the state.
People interested can fill out a form on the society's website to download the Scavify app. There, they can keep track of where they are on the leaderboards and see other people's selfies. Prizes, like stickers and towels, are also offered.
"The real prize is learning and having fun along the way," said Rorem.
The 'History Hunt' is live now and runs through Labor Day and it is a free experience.
