How are Minnesotans coping with this recent dump of snow?

While some are cringing at the sight of massive snow piles surrounding their homes, others are choosing to embrace it.

NEW HOPE, Minn. — You have to admit that there is something beautiful when Minnesota's trees are covered with snow.

For some reason, when it's on your driveway, it’s not as pretty.

Mike Ndamba did not see beauty when he woke up Wednesday morning to a foot of snow in front of his home in the New Hope area. He saw a chore.

“Two hours now, still removing snow,” said Ndamba as he blew the snow off his driveway.

He said it is his "work before work" — he also works a nightshift for the postal service.

“It’s like, I’m tired, and then I gotta go to work again,” he said.

But while some wake up in the morning and see a task, others see it as an opportunity to have a little fun.

Willow, a seven-month-old pup, was happily tugging her owner, Carly Jung, during her walk.

“Willow’s a big fan,” laughed Jung. “She loves to just bury her face in it and dig deep and jump around.”

But Willow wasn't the one clearing off the driveway.

“Shoveling was a little rough this morning,” said Jung.

Ken Kostka, on the other hand, had a warm welcome for the weather.

“We wanted to leave the snow down for a little bit because it’s so beautiful,” he said.

Down the street from him, Rob Sigmundik kept busy the past few days, clearing his own driveway and a few of his neighbors as well.

“We kind of stick around and look out for each other,” he said. “I know I'd appreciate it, I guess it kind of pays it forward. Somewhere, sometime, I'll get stuck.”

He enjoys the winter, but wouldn't mind if the weather turned the corner soon to give the ole snow blower a break.
